Electronic project application system for Coscine Data Projects

The storage space resource DataStorage.nrw is expected to be available to all DH.NRW universities from Q3 2025. Applications can be submitted from the official start - we will inform you as early as possible via our mailing list and on our website. Please do not submit any storage space requests beforehand unless your university is already authorised to use Coscine.

Welcome to JARDS, please choose if you want to create an application or review submitted applications.

Applications

Before you can create an application you must choose the application kind.

Project Categories
  1. Web: Web resources can be accessed via the Coscine web interface or the REST API. Employees of DH.NRW universities automatically receive 100 GB of storage space per project for this type of resource. An application must be filled out for more than 100 GB of storage space per Coscine project. The entry of metadata via Coscine is mandatory both via the web interface and the REST API.
  2. S3: As with Coscine web resources, S3 resources can be accessed via the web interface or the REST API and additionally directly via the S3 credentials using S3 clients (e.g. Cyberduck). As the entry of metadata is not enforced by Coscine when uploading files via S3, a storage space application is always required.
  3. WORM: WORM stands for "Write Once, Read Many", meaning that once files have been saved on the storage via this resource type, they can no longer be edited or deleted. To apply for this type of resource, a storage space application including a prior consultation with the RDM staff of the home organization is mandatory.

Review System

To access the review system you must be registered as a reviewer.
